| Nevermore | Posted on: 2005-10-19 12:14 PM Mudfest 2006 will be held in Manassas, VA next year. I'm starting the planning now so that we will all be well informed and everyone can make the necessary plans. I have not yet set a date, but it will probably be around the usual end-of-July-to-beginning-of-August-weekend date. I am going to -try- to plan the event around one of the areas MANY renaissance festivals. And for those of you who don't know, we are < 30 miles west of D.C. so there is a shitload of stuff to do here. Our house is 3 levels, plenty of space if you want to save money and bring a sleeping bag. There is also a huge hotel right across the street from our neighborhood (about a mile away... probably less than... definite staggering distance) for those who wish a more intimate nighttime setting. Our house has two decks for the smokers (no smoking inside). Drinking will be definite, so no one under 21 will be allowed, as usual. We have tennis courts, but drunken tennis will be discouraged after 10pm. We have a Big Green Egg (a bbq/smoker) and will cook for everyone for a nominal fee. Questions, comments, threats, complaints?! |

| Narcissus | Posted on: 2005-10-20 9:28 PM For what it's worth, I live in the boonies, which is actually only about 45 minutes away from Mudfest. Maybe we could do a "minor's day" thing at my place. The house is small, so we'd have to do some grilling stuff outside, and we'd basically have to camp out in the yard. But, the the yardage is pretty big. There is nobody nearby so you don't have to worry about noise problems and whatnot. Although it would be a manditory and enforced over-nighter for anybody who came because I'm not going to be responsible for something that happens down the highway, which in this state I can be :p |

I'm gonna check on plane ticket prices and I'll post a response in a few weeks or mabey a couple of days, I wont be driving, it's too far, and I drove to florida, and back, last winter so I'm good with even going half way. Do I need to bring anything besides myself, some clothes, and myself? I'll see if Perci will come along, unsure if he's up to it, but I don't believe he's ever been south of New York. I really hope to able to do this, hope to see you all there! |
