Wielding that Weapon

My question ..

Are there any weapons that may be wielded two OR one handed? Is there any value to this? Could it be implemented?

Fraid not. I could give away secrets of how the internals of the MUD work, and explain this, but... I won't. *evil maniacal laughter*.

Actually there's no reason why a class couldn't be modified to be able to wield two handed weapons in one hand (maybe do a little less damage or hit a little less often etc). Something that _could_ be very cool.

Hmmm, ponderings.

Sounds great!

Barbarians, apparently oversize roughnecks, would be able to wield two-handed weap's with just one hand with some negatives to the damage they can deal.

My other thought was that there are/were weapons designed to be used one OR two handed. D'n'D lists the katana as one but others may be a bastard sword or similar weapons.

Either way, it's interesting to me.

problem with that is, barbs like having 2 handed weapons, because they can cleave with it, if it could be made into a command where you can switch between 1handed and 2 handed in combat that'd be pretty special.

Being able to wield a weap one handed briefly during combat that WAS two handed would allow for a grab, push, punch .. shoulder? if the player so happened to be barb/merc. ...

Man i was just thinking about this the other day. Making weapons that could be one handed or two would be awesome for Knights and Barbs.

The examples given the katana and bastard sword from D&D are exactly what i was thinking of. It would make my knight less alias heavy too!

i have thought about this many times but didnt really see it as something that was needed... i played baulders gate 2 and barb's in that game get a passive skill called hero's arm which lets them wield 2 handers in one hand with can double thier attack damage...

but i dont think that this skill really has a place in tempus cause there are only 2 skills in the game that require a 2 hander...cleave and behead...and you can behead with a 1 hander also

So what your saying is, there is only one skill in the game that requires a 2 hander... cleave.

Barbs also get a bonus for lugging around our 2h weapons .. discipline of steel. Anyone know what the actual bonuses are for that?
