Remorting past gen 10 | |

Red | Posted 7 Jul 2010 I think it's safe to say it's near impossible to get quest points nowadays other than remorting past gen 10. I think it would be fair to award 2 (maybe 3) quest points per remort past gen 10. 50 mil + 1 billion experience seems to outweigh 1 quest point by a lot. This would give gen 10's something to do. Just a thought… |
Sekka | Posted 11 Jul 2010 I agree completely with Red. I think it would probably make Tempus more active if players saw more reason in remorting past gen 10. This way, not only would there be people leveling their new characters (the losers without all gen 10s… such as me), but the people with a ton of gen 10s wouldn't be bored if remorting them was worth it. One qp isn't really worth the effort at all. Sad panda. (yes I had to include that) |
Deneb | Posted 11 Jul 2010 No. Oedits are permanent and very powerful. Rightly so, qps should take a long time to obtain. Gen 10s could always use more incentives to keep playing their gen 10s but increasing it from 1 qp to 2 or 3 qps per remort is counter-productive. It makes light work of one of gen 10s' main goals. I'm just happy you get something extra for remorting past gen 10…I may be wrong, but I don't think the additional qp came with the remort in the past. I'm glad it's there now. |
Cast | Posted 12 Jul 2010 Deneb is right. The mud is hard enough for newbies already. More qp flowing around would mean more Oedits for the ancient players, and that would lead to one or more of the following:
I do like Red's suggestion earlier in another post about getting trailers that does absolutely nothing except to look cool. Say, maybe one additional trailer every 2^(number of permanent trailers already owned) gens past gen 10. Or having the new perm trailer replace the old perm trailer. |
Red | Posted 15 Jul 2010 2 qps per remort past gen 10 isn't ridiculous at all. Even if you were to buy oedits that way, you would have to remort 13 times. That's 650 million coins, and 13 billion experience. With that gen 10 cap, that could take a really long time to achieve. And even after all of that, you're at the bare minimum qp requirement for an oedit. If you want something really good, it could take half a year to a year and over a billion coins to obtain. I bet there isn't more than 3 people with a billion coins on the mud. Not ridiculous at all. 200 mil and 4 billion experience for an 8⁄8 imm enchant, sounds about right. 25 mil per ambrosia, sounds about right. Besides, I can't remember the last time we've even had a quest. |
Bushido | Posted 15 Jul 2010 i think that they tried to do something past gen 10 before and it didnt really do to much because basically you were just gen 11 or 12 or whatever and nothing else changed. you didnt really gain anything for remorting other then being on top of the who list. i think that other topics on this have the right idea. either do something based on demigods or just give the ability to add a 3rd class and once you remort you are locked from pkilling below your rank. this way people who have all gen 10s can add another class and continue leveling maybe make the cut off for this at gen 15 but a drastically raised exp cap for those who chose to go above gen 10. just an idea |
Deneb | Posted 15 Jul 2010 Since Tempus has become somewhat of a single player game as opposed to its true nature of an online player game, I suppose that 2 qps per remort past gen 10 isn't too much to ask for. But I still think that 1 qp is good enough. I stand by my statement that oedits are and should be difficult to obtain. 1qp to 2qps seems like a big jump to me. Perhaps increasing the exp cap for those who remort past gen 10 or reducing the remort cost for 1qp won't be such a shock to the system. Anyway, the best solution would be to have more quests. |
Gneissic | Posted 23 Jul 2010 How about getting 2 quest points for remorting a hardcore character past gen 10? I think that is fair. |
Glint | Posted 31 Jul 2010 holy crap, how about getting like 10 qps for even getting to gen 10 on a hardcore character! Think about how much money someone would waste if they got to gen 5 or something and then died on a hardcore, if they even GET to gen 5, then they have to start over again. I still don't even know why we made hardcore, but i'm glad two people enjoy it so far :P |
Deneb | Posted 31 Jul 2010 I think hardcore characters shouldn't get anything extra. I've made the argument before that the premise of the hardcore option is that of a challenge, and thus, hardcore characters shouldn't be granted anything. It shouldn't be like wearing equipment with trade-offs. It seems like the extra lp is an incentive to trying out hardcore status. Anything more would be crazy. Anyway, that belongs in another thread. If hardcore gen 10's get it, then regular gen 10's should get it as well. Not only hardcore characters. |
