Hey you're incapacitated, how about I miss my power shot.
Bushido Posted 8 Sep 2012

Ok I have noticed this many, many times over the last 8 years. How in the hell can anyone possibly miss a power attack on a player or mob that cannot move. Even with 0 hitroll it should be impossible to miss a sleeping/stunned person.

I was in the arena testing behead with my knight. I proceeded to miss a sleeping Kevven 3 times in a row with behead. Can anyone please explain how this happens.

That shouldn't happen unless your victim is awake. Did you initiate combat when you failed the behead? If so, the only thing I could think of is that mobs and characters are waking up before the initial attack lands.

For example, when I lecture a citizen in Mavernal, and the citizen is asleep, and I open with electric arc, I would see something like:

< 1024H 841M 1966V 133A > alter 'electric arc' citizen A citizen wakes up. Electricity arcs wildly about you, completely missing a citizen! < 1024H 788M 1966V 133A >

Alternatively I might see: < 1024H 841M 1966V 133A > alter 'electric arc' citizen A citizen wakes up. A citizen screams in pain as your electricity arcs into him! < 1024H 788M 1966V 133A >

All this to say, is it possible mobs are changing their position from POS_SLEEPING to POS_RESTING just prior to hit chance being calculated? I don't see how since the damage is what I imagine would cause them to wake, and you can't have damage before you have a hit chance..
