Gen 10's | |

Heartsbane | Posted 9 Oct 2004 Ok, so i was thinking, and have come up with this conclusion. Being Gen 10 is cool, right, just because you get hte satisfaction of being one of the elite… But, i think each class should get either a gen 10 remort skill/spell, or one of there skills/spells could be changed upon reaching gen 10 to be cooler. I.E Upon reaching gen 10, maybe a borg with a good enough discharge could occasionally floor the person with discharge, i know this idea has been discussed a lot, and i just figured this would be a cool place to put it in. Just a new remort skill/spell would probably be easier, because not all classes have a powermove that could be improved, like i donno what could be done with backstab or behead… Being gen 10 is great, but i think it'd be cool if everyone got somethin big upon remorting to gen 10, in a way that it was balanced between all the classes, just somethin to make ya even buffer… Thanks fer hearin me out -Heartsbane |
Lysolchip | Posted 11 Oct 2004 I think it'd be cool if every class had a gen 10 spell/skill also. I can vouch that trying to get taint (a gen 9 spell) was a big push for me to continue leveling. Having a gen 10 ultimate skill would be really cool, but like you said, it'd be really hard to balance all the classes and make sure each skill/spell would be equally powerful. |
Gasraidh | Posted 12 Nov 2004 Here is what i've come up with Borgs-Discharge at gen 10 could floor (maybe as often as crossface), and possibly damage from it have a multiplier (1.5 would seem approriate) Thieves - Backstab at gen 10 could get a "twist" added into it, stab 'em in the back twist the knife = ouch. It could be explained as the pain is so great that it confuses the victim, obviously adding confuse to backstab (though it might be too powerful at that point) Knights - Knights could get a charge skill (i've talked about this before) they rush into battle, possibly lowering the mobs morale, and knocking down the mob, or even just getting a boost in their first round of combat Bard - I'm afraid to say anything here becuase i'm sure it'll be met with "whine whine whine whine whine" but bards could get a "chain lightning-esque" skill, sonic wave or something that hit's all the mobs they are fighting instead of all of the mobs in the room Ranger - Personally I think rangers should get hamstring at gen 10, it'd only be the proper reward for a ranger (i hate rangers so i have a resepct for people who deal with them for 10 gens) Monk - In neverwinter nights, monks got this cool bonus for fighting with no weapon equipped it'd be kinda cool if monks at gen 10 got a large bonus like that, only include claws in with weapons, give them a bonus for fighting purely barehanded. Barbarian - A natural reduc would be most awesome, barbarians are physical beasts, you'd think after so long of barbarian hood they'd manage to build up somewhat of an immunity to damage even if only 15%, on top of berserk that's 20 and that's not bad. Mage - A magical immunity that renders maggi immune to all magical adverse effects (except maybe dispel, cause that would just be uncool) In my opinion magi get enough freakin toys, but everyone has to be equal Cleric - Screw clerics, they get enough……. Just kidding, I honestly don't know what to give clerics that they don't already have, except maybe give evil clerics a really nice heal and good clerics a nice attack spell shrug Psi - Psi's get pretty screwed over with remort stuff, maybe giving them a skill that lets them create a link with a particular player and when they want to they can see where that player is, or something, I dunno Phyz - A grav well that affects the entire room would be the single sweetest thing ever. Merc - meh, unless the direction merc takes is changed drastically, there's not much that makes sense not until guns are worht using. Maybe something that raises the power of snipe (it's pretty weak as it is right now) like a head shot or soemthing. |
Sanguinius | Posted 12 Nov 2004 Hey look, ideas. (My computer just did something funny… if it doubleposts, I'm gonna kill it) I definitely like the idea of high-gen skills. -Borg's look cool. I imagine a strong enough discharge would floor someone, anyways. -Thieves… do they need an add-on for a power-move? I was thinking something more along the lines of something REALLY unique. Say… Empty Form - A thief's skill at dodging attacks becomes so great, that some attacks appear to simply pass through him. Physical/Force attacks have a chance of not affecting a thief. -Knights getting "Furious Charge," a skill that enhances damage ans speed for the first round of any combat they are in. Fun, and right out of the BBB of Warhammer 40k. -I don't mind a Bardic Chain-lightning. As long as its fair by comparison. -Rangers are a pain to level alright. But maybe they should get something more unique than Hamstring at gen 10… The Hunt - The Ranger calls forth a Pack of mighty Spirit Wolves to assist him in hunting down his latest victim. -Monks in NwN got the same attack bonus for not wielding a weapon that Monk's always have - their damage dice on their bare hands got incrased. I'm not a Monk expert, but having an "Improved Natural Attack" may be a good thing for them… -Barbarian's should get an Upgraded Berserk. Callit "Frenzy." Make it give them the bonus you were talking about, and an additional bonus - if they get reduced to 0 hitpoints or less, they -keep fighting- until the Frenzy wears off. Afterwords, they suffer whatever negative affects their wounds would ahve had on them. -Mages do get enough freakin toys, but fair is fair… so give them something completely unfair, like Gate. Nothing says "I'm Badass" than summoning an extraplanar being into your control. -Clerics do kind of need something… Evil Clerics should get a THAC0 bonus, while Good Clerics could get the hitpoint equivilant of Locust Regeneration… or something. I might think of something better later. -Psi's getting a direct mindlink with someone would be evil. How about something everyone would enjoy, like "Mass Id Insinuation." :) -Phys getting a roomwide Grav Well? Sign me up. -Merc's shoudl get the ability to make bombs at the first gen, and ahve the parts for such nastiness spread out around the MUD… find some gunpowder, find a metal pipe, and find a fuse, and a merc could make you a pipe bomb. For Gen 10, Mercs should get something even more spectacular than that. Not sure what though… |
Faithless | Posted 11 Dec 2004 Ok, since I already did my set of complaining about thief, I think that skill Sanguinius, OMG man, amazing, that could really help thiefs in PVM, the other skills are all cool but I like playing underdog classes, as a matter of fact im workin a knight now that i got Faithless to gen 10, to tell ya truth thiefs dont vary from gen 5 to 10, its basically the same things. Also, i hate to post this here but maybe thiefs could also get their thac0 lowered a litle, i have 9 thac0 at gen 10, and arent thiefs supposed to be pretty quick with daggers…. twirling and all |
Heartsbane | Posted 11 Dec 2004 I've had this idea for a long time, but havnt ever posted it: For monks, it would be cool to arrange the order of the skills in your combo. For example, you could put in hiptoss as the first move, making the entire combo do more damage, but giving you a bigger wait state and the victim a lower wait state, or you could put hiptoss at the end, giving you a smaller wait state and leaving them floored for longer, but resulting in less damage. This could be done for almost all skills, having different effects in different orders. |
Ezekal | Posted 5 Jan 2005 Change "Mass Id Insinuation" to "Chaos". It describes it MUCH better. But, as a Psion, the remort subject is touchy for me. I personally think we psions get jipped remort-skill wise. First, i know it aint remort based, but i want color spray. It makes sense for a Psion to get it! Oh wait….its the same thing as psi blast. Nevermind that. 2nd, for the lvl 10 remort skill, why not a skill called "Mind Shatter". Imagine psiblast + psy crush + ego whip put together, and given more steroids then Jason Giambi. Essentially, you blast the guy with a psyblast that would cause the guy's head to look FUBAR. If it kills the target head on, then the victim's head bursts, sending bone fragments flying, dealing damage to everything else in the room. If these other targets were not hostile towards you, they will not be now, since it was actually the guys head who did them harm. If they were hostile, well, they're mad at you anyway. However, if it doesnt kill them, they're knocked to the ground and take DOT. Might be a little too strong, but eh, im posting it here so that people can make changes to it. Mass id insinuation WOULD be Über, though. |
