post gen 10 ideas | |

Here | Posted 19 Jan 2005 so i was pondering life, and the afterlife. actually, i was thinking about idea's for what to do after your gen 10. I might have posted this idea before, as i came up with it a long time ago, but i dont know. How cool would it be to have a kind of "demi god" type deal, where like, upon reaching gen 10, you could kind of "remort" again, into this new class, but instead of having a preset skills/spells list, you had some choices on skills. My idea was, that upon creation of this "demi god" you would start with like, 50 "skill points", and you could use them to "buy" different skills. The better skills in the game would be more valuable, and would cost more skill points. For example: Stun - 15 skill points Omega nerve - 10 skill points Word stun - 10 skill points backstab - 10 skill points !pain - 15 points sanct - 10 points dispel magic - 15 skill points combo - 10 points double attack - 3 points triple attack - 5 points stuff like that. The class would have potential to be about anything, you could make a super-tank char with thorn skin and berserk, or you could make the ultimate pkiller. However, i do think there would have to be some SERIOUS drawbacks to doing this. -2 to all stats upon creation (you could use your life points to raise them again, but most people like to spend them on HP). Automatically set to True Killer. (gods are quite malicious, as we have all seen :D). I havnt thought of other drawbacks, but there should be some. This class would get decent HP, their no barbarians, but not exactly psions either. |
Roan | Posted 27 Jan 2005 I do not like this idea. Don't get me wrong I am sure you spend lots of time thinking bout this but that is insane. Of course the skills that are better would cost more, but with 50 skill points and your current skill point cost. You could be a bard/physic with triple attack, backstab, nopain, sanc, and something else. Now that is just plan simply over kill. I mean, if that would fly as a good idea, why not just make a generation 11 be able to take on 3 classes? Another overkill idea. I think ever class should have a few things no one else can get. That is why you can not get speed and can not buy spell or skills like prismatic sphere that is a rmeort spell. You always need the classes able to each have there certain thing they are good in. I do however think race should have a little more insight on what your char. can do. Examples would go as followed… orc - smash skill dwarf - something to knock down big targets, since they fight large monsters well. or the skill power, focusing on there str and increasing it. No class would have anything to big, I think its the little things that add up. Kind of like eq, if you change your eq and each postion gives you one more damroll. You increase alot. Anyway, just a reply. I also think to many people post new topics that are not new. These all belong in somewhere else. I wonder if someone can consolidate these post? |
Heartsbane | Posted 27 Jan 2005 ok, make a bard/phyz, and level him using ONLY the skills you just mentioned. When your level 49, tell me how long it took, then we'll talk. |
Heartsbane | Posted 27 Jan 2005 and, try defending yourself against the demons that'd come after ya since you were automatically a true killer with only those things. |
Heartsbane | Posted 28 Jan 2005 ahh haha i just realized, you thought i was talking about, making classes and getting those skills i listed in addition to the classes skills. NO. It would be a new class, with ONLY the skills i mentioned. I dont think it'd be unreasonable to have a char with Backstab, sanc&nopain(thats only 40% anyhow), and stun. Try leveling with that. flee/backstab will only work in some cases. Every skill should have some -'s also, like -hp or something that you get as soon as you buy the skill. |
Gasraidh | Posted 20 Jul 2005 Acutally I came up with this idea and gave it to you. Idea whore. |
Rahvin | Posted 20 Jul 2005 no you didnt :) |
