Gen 10 trial

I was thinking about a trial at gen 10. It would be a zone specific to each primary class, which would require the use of all or most of each classes remort skills. Since people remort naked, tempory eq would be made available once entering the zone, such as the eq that used to be in the tutorial. If you die or perhaps do not complete the zone before a set time limit, you stay level 49 and lose your 50 mil. If you do complete the zone a reward of 1-5 items is offered to you and you remort.

At first I was thinking that these items could be made +class of that persons primary class, but that would probably still lead to some really well equiped multies. So then I thought of binding eq to characters, such as you see in WOW, where the item would have a character flag on it…This item belongs to SYNAPSE.

I know it would take alot of coding, but the collecting of these items for each class would create alot less boredom and give the gen 10's something to do, other than just gaining a qp for genning up again.

What do you think?

That sounds like a cool idea and would give everyone something to do in later stages of the game to mix it up. Plus the coding is already in place for character-specific eq. The robes that are used for the mortal council members are character-specific (I could be wrong but that was how I understood it).

Although it does seem fun, I think the qp is more suitable. Just weigh the cost of an item you would consider your gen 10 to wear to one qp.

Which is why I think the trial should be very difficult…in fact hard enough that even good players may die.

What about the rewards? Though some would be willing to risk money and implants to get them, some may not have a use for it at all. I say this because I'm pretty sure the rewards wouldn't not give so much power to the player's character.

I understand that it is a RISK and may be worth every gold coin to that person, but it's not as flexible of an award as a qp. So I can't see why rewarding qps would be replaced by this.

Perhaps implementing the trials and being awarded with the CHOICE between the two?

What if the reward for gaining that last Gen would be a QP…BUT would you rather have that 1 QP or risk that QP and death to get 5 QPs by taking the physical challenge! (qp amount to be determined later. Tempus staff not responsible for lost of life/eq/self-esteem. Some restrictions apply.)
