possible merc skill? | |

Kabal | Posted 21 Aug 2008 ok, i was thinking of a new skill for the merc, called natural reaction, when attacked theres a higher chance that the merc will dodge the attack and strike, hit, slash, ect. the attacker. now it can be a gen skill, like gen 5,6, or 7. the reason i was thinking of this is because every ex-miltary person ive ever met had a natural reaction when attacked, and that reaction is to take down their attacker. its just a thought, but by all means take it into consideration

Eternal | Posted 21 Aug 2008 Monks, Thiefs, Bards, and Rangers currently get something very much like this. If you could find a way to make it different then the other moves these classes have I'm sure it would spark some intrest in immortals in charge of such changes. Monk - Evade (avoid multiple attacks while evading) Thief - Uncanny Dodge (dodge an attack) Bard - Tumbling (dudge an attack) Ranger - Counter Attack (strike back) Knight - Shield Mastery (blocks an attack) I personally feel these types of skills/spells add a fun style to classes. As for the mercenary, have a skill where you block the attack, it still does a small ammount of damage but you end up knocking your opponent off balance knocking him/her down. I would of always liked to see a psionic read the opponents mind right before an attack and block it with his/her mind. shrug |
Riffe | Posted 21 Aug 2008 I'd posted an idea about "Close-Quarters Combat" with a similar dodging or slight redux flair. However, after more Merc usage, I've come to realize how vicious they can be as a prime class. If there was a movement to do something for the Mercenary class, I'd say improve the two mostly useless remort skills: Snipe and Chemistry. R/R |
Kabal | Posted 22 Aug 2008 ok check it out, i KNOW everybody that plays has been in a fight, well whenever anybody takes a swing at me i dodge the attack, and counter with one of my own. im just saying i think it would be a good skill VS aggro mobs. |
