Analyze and physical effects | |
---|---|
Merriam | Posted 23 Sep 2012 Analyze should show the effects of pills, syringes, and other "physical" items from the future. Meanwhile, I think identify should obscure it since it isn't magical. |
Tower | Posted 24 Sep 2012 This is a good idea on multiple levels. |
Wile | Posted 13 Dec 2014 If this is actually going to happen, don't limit it to future items, make it so that analyse can read effects from future classes and identify effects from past classes. Example, confidence is a psi trigger and sanctuary is a past spell… Not saying I support this idea, personally, I would hate it and I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one, but if you're going to screw identify over, at least don't do it with every piece of future or past item. It may be from the future, but it would still remain a "magical" effect if it casts, say, prismatic spray such as the rainbow mop. The only part of this I would like is that borgs can get more bang from their analyse skill seeing as it's their only way to check the stats on stuff. Really, it sounds a lot like a pain in the ass loading gear, identifying it, dropping it in my house, and getting my borg to analyse it, but hey…whatever. Or you could make analyse not suck. Just sayin'. |
Omnipotent | Posted 13 Dec 2014 Thematically, this may fit the world better. Something to consider. |
Merriam | Posted 13 Dec 2014 This change was made some time ago. Also, generally scrolls, wands, staves, and potions provide affects from past classes while syringes, pills, and such provide affects from future classes. |
Omnipotent | Posted 13 Dec 2014 Thanks for clarifying Merriam. |
