What Class Do You Play??? And Why??? | |
---|---|
Willms | Posted 22 Mar 2004 I am playing an evil cleric which seems to be working out so far, but I'd like to hear the upsides to some other classes so that i could make a few more characters. The only thing about clerics (morts) is their lack of offensive attack spells. How are the remort spells for an evil cleric? Anyone know? The reason I chose an evil cleric is because i like the whole satanic priest idea behind it. Sort of like Allistar Crowley. :) |
Storm | Posted 22 Mar 2004 Evil clerics have some of the best offensive attack spells in the game. There's no competing with either spiritual hammer (which you get at like 10th level) and symbol of pain (which you get at 38th). Add to that all of the little bonuses like armor, pray, magical protection, and others (like heal), and you've got a pretty killer character. My evil cleric was my highest gen character that I've ever had. Monk was my favorite class to play, though. The zens and pinches made them fun. :P Storm |
Heartsbane | Posted 22 Mar 2004 I play cyborg… and its my highest (and only remort) gen character. I play cyborg because i can get killer damroll, super fast attack speed, and good ac… imho, no way to beat it (except maybe monk) |
Panzer | Posted 23 Mar 2004 I played a Cyborg because I especially liked the uniqueness of the class–it was something that I had never seen on a mud anywhere before. Physic was the other very unique class that I saw, but I've always leaned towards fighting types so chose cyborg over phys. But now, I've remorted as a cyborg/physic, and have really enjoyed the combo. Mercs also seem to be a rather unique class–kind of fighter/thief(ish). The other thing about cyborgs that I must admit I enjoy (even thought it's difficult sometimes) is that there aren't a lot of us. We're pretty unique as a primary class, it seems. |
Elric | Posted 23 Mar 2004 RE: Heartsbane. I think you forgot one major downside of cyborg. It also responds to your hard to beat comment. It's called Lightning bolt… (I guess electric arc needs to be in here too). |
Heartsbane | Posted 24 Mar 2004 yeah, lightning bolt fucks us up, good point but, not a whole lot of mobs lightning bolt, and if its pk, most of the mages i've arena'd against actually dont use lightning bolt most of the time |
Willms | Posted 24 Mar 2004 Evil clerics only get a few attack spells. How are the remort spells like inferno? How is disruption? |
Storm | Posted 24 Mar 2004 Disruption has a wide variation in damage… it either does a ton or nothing at all, I'd stick with symbol of pain at that level (though I have both practiced right now). Inferno isn't awesome, but it does have the neat side effect that if the person catches on fire, they lose all of their mana. The real strength of the evil cleric is dealing out massive damage. Spiritual hammer is the only thing you need when it comes to fighting against mobs. It does a lot of damage for only 10 mana (when you get higher up in level). Symbol of Pain also does a lot of damage against good aligned opponents, and does modest damage to neutral and evil opponents. Symbol of Pain also has the nice side effect of giving the target a penalty to dexterity. |
Elric | Posted 25 Mar 2004 Symbol of Pain also has the great side effect of causing the target confusion and thus interfering with spell casting… |
Azus | Posted 5 Apr 2004 I played a ranger. The only problem with it, is that it's boring, and to be any good, you have to have high damroll and 75% damage reduction. If you meet those two requirements you'll be pretty powerful if you remort physic. A gen 10 ranger/physic can be ridiculously powerful with the right equipment. |
Craedric | Posted 13 Aug 2004 I play both a Physic (Ezekal) and an Anti-Paladin. Both are extremely cool, because they are so completely different from eachother. On the one hand you have Craedric, the psychotic evil celtic paladin, and on the other hand you have Ezekal, the punk rock Psionicist mind warrior. I prefer the Psion because i lvoe the idea of using my powers for good + evil. On the good side, i can heal my friends, buff them, and give some Uber damage rolls (adren is always fun!), and on the evil side, i waltz around making peoples brains jolty or explode, causing fear, clumsiness, and all the other symptoms of puberty in all my opponets, eventually ending in thier brain's demise. If you look around, you can certainly find me knocked out next to the cityguard who tried to drag me to jail, only to die halfway there because of the dot i casted on him. |
Drako | Posted 16 Aug 2004 my solo remort char is a good knight. i chose to play a good knight because when i seen this game for the first time there weren't many of them on the game and knights kick ass. even though i would like to see some uber good knight eq come outta heaven here soon. but other than that ive played a thief and an evil cleric and liked them both for wat i have played with them |
Gasraidh | Posted 25 Aug 2004 Merc wins. End of story Actually I love merc, primarily because of wrench and hammy. after all, it is what distinguishes merc from the other classes. Cool thing about merc is that they have no problem distinguishing from other classes. Problem with it is the fact that guns just aren't up to par with swords, but that's easily looked past. Snipe, while somewhat unreliable from my experience is a whole hell of a lot of fun. yea, that's it |
Ezekal | Posted 27 Aug 2004 What is snipe? Sounded kinda cool. Mercs are my 4th favortie char - here are my top 5. 1: Psion - Already listed. 2: Ranger - Druidic knight. Hella tight. To bad hes a weak class. 3: Knight - Already listed. 4: Merc - Gun toting Anarchic bad-***, with some cool abilities. 5: Monk - Who needs weapons but the fists i was born with? |
