Adding value to rename tickets | |
---|---|
Lysolchip | Posted 10 May 2005 Ok, so rename tickets are neat and all because they allow a player to personalize their equipment, but they aren't all that valuble. Usually during quests, when people are given a choice between an implant ticket and a rename ticket, most people pick implant tickets. Also, when people auction tickets, I see implant tickets go for like 4 mill and rename tickets go for only like 1 mill. Now I'm not saying things aren't fine as is, but I'd like to see rename tickets be more valuble. And with the change in the looting system, I have an idea how this can be done: I think it'd be cool if when you renamed an item, imms would not only rename the object's name but allow players to rename an object's aliases. This is what I mean. Let's say I had some wings of the pit fiend that I wanted to rename to "angel wings". Well, if the rename ticket allowed me to rename the item's aliases also, I would remove the aliases "wings", "pit", and "fiend" and make the alias anything that I wanted, like "lysol's" and "booger". That way, when pkilled, since the person can only 1 item at a time, they'd have a harder time trying to figure out what the alias is for my "angel wings". Another way to add value to a rename ticket would be to have it so that once an item is renamed, imms won't allow them to be renamed again. That way, if I rename my item and it's later stolen from me, I can at least locate it and see who has my stuff so that I can get revenge. Anyway, that's my idea. It's obvious that it's another anti-pkill thing, but I do think it would add a whole lot more value to a rename ticket. I for one, would start asking for rename tickets as quest prizes instead of implant tickets. The other good thing about this idea is that it requires no additional coding changes. All it requires is that imms abide by the policy and make aliases whatever a player wants and also does not change any already renamed items. |
