What do people think of there being eq that can be purchased from a vendor that competes with eq that you have to pop, however the purchased eq only lasts so long before it vanishes.

Especially used for specialized eq that works best fighting a certain type of mob. The vendor for the eq might be hard to reach or on a certain plane, the "Evilfightingswordofjustice" below might be purchased in heaven.

There is (was?) a really sweet shop in the elemental plane of smoke that sold some pretty decent stuff but it did cost millions of coins to get those items. The catch was that in order to even get the opportunity to purchase anything you would have to talk to the shop owner and find out which items he required you to bring him as materials so he could make it. So for a smoke sword (just as a fake example) he would ask you to bring him a bronze shortsword, a golden egg, and a small ball of fire. Then the item would no longer say "UNAVAILABLE" and instead show the price at which you could purchase it.

We should have more shops like that. It would balance the desire to purchase really great eq with a need to explore (to find the items) and a hefty price tag as well. Due to coding it would probably be a good idea to have the shop keeper in a 1-person only room and offer the suggestion to only start giving the shop keeper items when you've found all the necessary ingredients.

If there was such a vendor, I probably wouldn't buy from them. I hate equipment with low durability and temporary equipment seems almost the same to me. You benefit by wearing them but lose it after taking a number of hits or, in this case, after a number of minutes have past. In the respect of selling equipment with damroll, Quad Damages do the same thing and I already know of a nice lady that has them on the menu.

PS I might buy them for assimilation (depends on the cost and what I can get)
