Bounty Hunters | |

Deneb | Posted 18 Jan 2011 Another random thought and another post about PK. Just got an idea about bounty hunters so here it is. So, instead of bounty hunters hunting whenever a PKer becomes a criminal we let the victim of the PK decide. The victim can go to a bounty hunter's guild of sorts and place a hit on a player who has PKed him or her (only the victim can place bounties for his or her attacker). These bounty hunters are mobs and can appear and disappear like the courier imp does. Prices and hunter strength vary upon reputation. If the person is a criminal, the hunter may take an item or more and mail it to the victim. Bounty hunters continue their pursuit until the target dies by their hands or the bounty hunter dies. Other players can participate and receive the bounty. However, the bounty they receive comes from the account of the target plus the amount if he were a criminal. In addition, players who satisfy the contract do not stop active hunters. As an example, let us say player A PKs player B. Player B goes to a bounty hunter's guild (a pub) and put up a bounty for player A's death. Depending on how much money player B paid and how high player A's reputation is, player B may get a weakling or a real monster. Let's say player A is -Unfriendly- (low reputation, non-criminal), player B would have to pay a lot more money to get a powerful bounty hunter than he would if player A was -True Killer- (high reputation, criminal). Player B pays 20 million coins for player A's head. The bounty hunter is tough but is nothing player A can't handle. Player A logs on one day and goes for a money run, the hunter finds player A and stuns him and attacks. Player A survives and recalls. Player C goes to the pub and registers as a bounty hunter to kill player A. Player C kills player A and receives 20 million coins straight from player A's bank account. Other players can no longer register as bounty hunters for player A. However, the bounty hunter continues the hunt until player A dies or it dies. The idea isn't aimed toward fixing any problems or anything of the sort. I just thought it might be cool. Let me know what you guys think as well as any possible loopholes or abuses that I probably overlooked. |
Red | Posted 28 Jan 2011 That sounds cool and something I would be interested in. Although, PK hardly exists on the mud anymore. Honestly, I enjoy PK and I would like to see a lot more of it, but it's hard when there are so few clans. I miss those days of PK quests and clan wars. |
