Panzer | Posted 11 Dec 2003 I'd go query the mud help file, but I'm at work and seeing these posts referring to "gen" is just intriguing me to no end :) I can understand HP "re-gen". Same for move and mana. But when you start throwing the word "Gen" around when talkinga about things like: monsters, damage, negative to stats…I get lost. Would someone enlighten me, please? Much thanks! Panzer mk. I |
Azimuth | Posted 11 Dec 2003 'gen' refers to 'remort generation', which is the number of times you've remortalized. |
Panzer | Posted 11 Dec 2003 Ahh..I see, I think. So, how many times can you remort? In the help file, it seems to indicate that you become "dual class", thich implies only being able to remort once. Sounds like that's not the case…? So if you can remort more than once…could you become, say, a: cyborg/thief/knight..? Just curious ;) Thanks! Panzer mk. I |
Cest | Posted 11 Dec 2003 You can only keep one of your secondary classes. For example: You remort into a borg/knight, then you lvl up blah blah blah and you remort again. This time you choose to be a cleric instead of a knight as your secondary class, instead of being a borg/knight/cleric you would become only a borg/cleric. |
Wish | Posted 11 Dec 2003 Remortalization Aka Remorting TempusMUD possesses 49 mortal levels. When you have reached all of the experience required to complete the 49th level you will began to receive negative exp or negative exp. Once negative exp is reached you have two options: You can stay at level 49 indefinitely. Or you can remort. Remorting is done by finding the aspect of fate that you can see by looking in the cauldron in the High Tower of Magic. You can only see an aspect of fate once you have reached -exp. You must then find this fate, kill her, enter the tapestry and meet the remorter. The remorter however requires money, and do not take your EQ in with you to remort or you will lose it! After you have passed the test you have the option to pick a secondary class. You may remort as anything but your primary class. However, we do not remort a monk to knight or cleric, or a knight or cleric to a monk because of spiritual conflicts. You have the opportunity to remort 10 times, choosing a secondary class each time. You remort as the same secondary class if you really like it, or try something else for a new experience. Each time you remort to the next generation, you have the potential to become more powerful then you were before. Hope that helps.

Panzer | Posted 12 Dec 2003 You betcha it does! So, if you are a prime Cyborg, then remort to a Thief, you can use both Cyborg and Thief skills…cool. Now, if you remort again, and choose…say..Mage…do you lose all the thief skills you gained? Or do you get to keep those too? |
Storm | Posted 12 Dec 2003 Once you remort, you lose all of the skills you gained and start back at level 1. You then level up some more and get more skills as you learn your base class and your new class skills over again. |
Arial | Posted 16 Dec 2003 you are also MUCH more stronger the second time then you were the first and get more hp and mana and such. so it is actually worth it even if you like your second class, just remort the same class again! thats what ive done for many gens now! |
Revelation | Posted 11 Jan 2004 each time you remort, you gain life points all over again, and you can improve your stats. When you remort, your stats don't reset, and you carry them over. Eventually you'll get 25 for all your stats (that's the max)and at that poin you can use your life points to buy HP or mana. |
